'Creek' Star Jackson Enters Alcohol Program Joshua Jackson of "Dawson's Creek" has agreed to enter an alcohol-education program to dispense with charges resulting from a fight he was part of last year.
Jackson, 24, was placed in the program after admitting to a Raleigh, N.C., court that he was drunk and disruptive at a Carolina Hurricanes hockey game in November. In exchange for his entering the program, prosecutors dropped a charge of simple assault against the actor. "We thought it was the most appropriate outcome under the circumstances," Jackson's lawyer, Brad Bannon, tells the AP.
Police reports at the time of the arrest said Jackson, who plays Pacey Witter on The WB's soon-to-end drama, grabbed a security guard around the neck and hit him. Tests showed he had a blood-alcohol level of .14 percent.
If Jackson completes the 15-hour substance abuse education program and 24 hours of community service within six months, and stays out of trouble, he can have the drunk-and-disruptive charge dropped from his record. Related Story
